Maybe because I enjoy that 'struggle in the throat' I really, really like the idea of preds eating overweight prey. Prey swollen by thier own meals, bloated, unable to move. I like the pred that shivers over thier swollen meal, stroking the soft flesh, listening to thier partner groan and groan... and they grow envious. and they grow hungry. Thier thier prey could eat such a large, fulfilling meal... then why can't they? And isntead of hunting around, looking for something else, they have a nice, fat, juicy meal all splayed out, waiting for them.
 
They're not sure how to go about it. The prey is large, larger than anything they've slipped down whole. And they can't just go about this willy-nilly with thier sharp teeth and claws. They could accidentally pop a perfectly good, neatly wrapped meat-burrito of a meal.
 
So they try to be gentle, while they struggle to slip the bloated body in thier mouths. The arms, the head, the chest, it all goes according to plan. But then that tight, swollen cusion of flesh taps the end of thier snout, and they know they're in trouble. Thier throat is rythmically beating, thier stomach aching for its fill. But they struggle, frustrated, swallowing heavier and heavier to try and shift the weight, any weight into thier mouths. Thier jaws ache. Thier throat is weak.
 
But finally, the belly slips down an inch. It's such a short distance, but it emboldens the pred, and thier effort is redoubled. They try to push and shift the liquids in thier prey's belly, slopping like a cushion between the pred's lips. They gulp, and squeeze, and fight, breaths short as gasping as more and more and more slips in.
 
Finally the legs. Compared to the bloat of the belly, these limbs slip in like a dream. The pred sits back, struggle over, as a doubly swolen belly squats between thier spread legs, massive and bulging.
