"The harvest from the endless fields had always been bountiful, but who knew an attenpted rebellion would lead to the most delectable harvest of all?
It seems like the example they made of the rouge knight earlier did not deter those who laid claim to the throne, as the princess of the fields and his general/best friend seemed to have thought rallying up the peasantry would help them take the throne, and they had prevented the latest harvests from shipping to the castle. However, they were not expecting the full force of the army to crash down upon them, so the army easily returned with not only the original harvests, but the princess and general in tow, the princess soft, supple and pampered, and the general Hardened and muscular. Starting to grow a certain taste after last time, the Princess and the General served as the main course at the harvest feast.

Maybe this will be a far more compelling deterrent. And if not, well, claimants to the throne might not have any (Public) proof, but if taste is proof, the current royals would have to concede they were running with royal blood, and they would be happy to have the claimants prove it to them."
