It seems that the kaboom that happened before was Mai and Kurumi bellies growing to large proportions making them bigger compared to their bodies. Both girls were now on top of their large bellies completely confused and shocked at what happened to them. With Kurumi asking Mai what happened and their belly growth, Mai replied saying she wasn't too sure and should make their way to the school to get checked up and examined. However Mai was struggling because since she swallowed more phantoms her belly was much larger so she found it difficult to reach the ground, while Kurumi didn't have enough strength yet to move from her spot on her belly. They also had to cope with the phantoms moving around frantically inside their bellies on the way.

After they arrived at the school they, the people were very surprised at the situation and after being examined and told their story, they discovered that the lamia/naga phantoms grow when covered in liquid and this includes stomach fluids. It seems that the phantoms cannot be removed while fully grown, so they both have to wait until they figure out how to make them smaller so they stayed inside the school. They then feel asleep on the beds provided, but the moving phantoms inside didn't make it easy.

The next day both Mai and Kurumi screamed and what happened to them. It seems that for some reason both of their bellies disappeared (you decide, digestion, absorption or teleport etc.) but that was not all. It seems that Kurumi had not only become older and bustier, she had become part lamia/naga phantom with their tail. She became so much older that her usual small uniform could barely covered her body that well and her boob were about to exploded out of the top with the slightest movement. While she asked Mai what happened she was then surprised because of Mai appearance. It seems like that already buxom boob and butt and increased so much that they were as big as her body. They were so big and heavy that even with Mai powered up strength she could not even lift them off the ground. She replied to Kurumi that she would help but only if she could move. Guess this will teach them that only specific people like Reina power should swallow Phantoms otherwise this could happen.
