You've never heard of a Jabberwock?

er, rather it's Jabberwocky outside of the Monstergirl Encyclopedia, I guess (only vaguely know what that is tbh...)

The Jabberwocky is pure fiction without the basis of mythos was originally in a poem by Lewis Carrol (the Alice in Wonderland author so you know it's prolly gonna trippy and, indeed, the poem was pretty much absurdist nonsense).

There was also a very weird 70s movie called Jabberwocky. It was a comedy i think, as it was written by someone from the Monty Python company (so I'd expect Brit humor). But I also heard it was very violent lol.

Apparently the Jabberwocky was in Tim Burton's version of Alice and Wonderland too. I guess it makes sense with the Lewis Carroll connection. I only saw the beginning of the movie. Fell asleep during it as it was late at night in a different time zone and my body was confused.

you have a very cute art style by the way. I like the vibrant use of colours too n_n

Yeah, gotta admit I never heard of it before getting this commission. And looking at references outside of the MGE character, it's quite an odd looking dragon ^^

It's actually Jabberwock according to the Through the Looking-glass poem, but Jabberwocky is the name of the poem.

Ah, oops. I Must've forgotten that bit ^^; Hmm. I wonder what's up with the "y" in the title then...? Maybe Carroll was turning a noun into an adjective or something? Sounds like something he'd do...

The way I interpreted it, Jabberwocky is meant to look unintelligible like some sort of Middle English text, and so I always thought -y was supposed to imply that it's a "poem about x", but that's just a guess. I never thought about it in the adjective sense actually, that sounds plausible as well.

Well, if you think about it, adding a -y to x word (typically a noun prolly) making the word become " about x word" (so now x word is a description the z thing/z thing's topic more or less) is kinda just turning x word into an adjective as it's basically now x word+y z thing. adjective = x-word+y; noun = z thing. e.g. Jabberwocky poem. If that makes sense? I kinda struggled a bit with how to word this. took the quasi math formula approach, haha.

I think if you explained it in human I'd have understood it better haha but I believe you're really mostly reaffirming my interpretation, that's it's a Jabberwock-y poem. It makes sense I suppose, even though it's just an interpretation.

Too bad I left my humanity at the dry cleaning I guess. ((my point was that my adjective theory and your "poem about x" theory are basically the same theory. That's all. I guess I forgot to just straight up say that in my past comment, huh.. oops. xD;))

"The jaws that bite, the claws that catch" may not have highlighted the real threat.
Or described how good she looks. Great work.
