Vallon is a wizard and a beastman, fighting against orcs.

And it turns out you can learn a /lot/ from fighting against an enemy who also uses the unusual magic the setting calls for!

This story has a healthy chunk of 'world building', haha - or at least making it perfectly clear how magic works in this story's setting. Hopefully it's interesting, as it's been rattling in my head for awhile!

¡Orctober!

Ive never been too much of a guy about magical incantations, until I saw sheild hero hehe. something about the phrase/command "decipher the laws of nature" is just so... intriging to me in terms of using magic lol. Its like commanding the mysticsm of magic to scientifically manifest for them or something.

So I find the idea of incantations in general curious now hehe.

Haha, Shield Hero is not something I'm familiar with -a quick google suggests it's an interesting sounding anime?

Still, incantations can be neat sometimes! I think I can blame Final Fantasy Tactics for that, although the trope is much older. Maybe Phantom Brave. These are meant to hopefully put a mild nudge into the cultures that spawned them, as Xon and Vallon have very different incantations for their spellcasting.

Thanks for the comment, and I'm glad the story interested you enough to do so! ^_^

Another good story with interesting sounding incantations is the fate/-stay night/unlimited blade works/the various spinoffs they have on netflix atm... series lol. The first couple episodes of fate/apocrypa when they start the summoning, stand out to me at the moment.
