It's bad enough sliding into the cavernous gut of a seal that just swallowed you whole. It's worse when you find a partially digested someone already there. And it's even worse when when it's someone you were trying to rescue.
Even if it's pitch black in there, you can smell the acid and feel the slimy flesh dissolving away from their bones. And very soon, that will happen to you, too. There will be no rescue. There will be no escape, just a short trip through the digestive tract of the seal you annoyed.
The bulge from the outside may be amusing. It's a lot less fun for the people making that bulge.

With how often people get eaten, you would think there would be remains of people that were eaten all over the place. Clothes, and phones, shoes, bags. Or just the remains. Yet that beach is pretty darn clean! Bet they have great caretakers for the beaches.

In at least one story the characters mention finding clothing "disocolored by exposure to sea water" which of course was discolored by something else. Recovered wallets and cell phones are also mentioned. Presumably the wildlife poops in the ocean so there aren't great piles of used-to-be-human around.
Oh, there are probably volunteers walking around picking up trash and clothing. Retirees, most likely, getting their morning exercise and maybe making friends with the animals. 83
