When the dragon king falls, his kin swarm before his body has finished cooling to proclaim themselves rightful heir. Quite a troubling time for the realm, particularly when there's a distinc possibility it was one of them that ordered the king killed.

I like dragon servant relationships, including the vorish kind, feel bad for the kobold, what the chances steelclaw going just for the scare and maybe full tour.

Not too likely. I feel it would diminish how unstable he comes across

Dragons kobolds vore and court intrigue. I am in. Redgaze reminded me of the Red Prince in Divinity 2, just less ambitious but as aware of the political circumstances and a capacity for feigned courtesy, or indignation.
Also you implied that Windgazer getting the support of the kobolds had some weight. I wonder just how much they can influence things around the tower. They might seem a mere appliance or convenient snack for some, but I saw no one else actually working, so they might be extremely important to someone willing to take them serious.

PS. I have not read part two yet, but I wonder what Redgaze does next. If she had any ambition to mastermind herself on the thronw she could arrange her brutish brother to take on the bastard and her followers, exposing him to the public and court as a bloodthirsty tyrant and either causing the percepted usurper to flee, take up arms against her kin, thus disqualifying herself or have them kill each other.

I really love it when a story gets so many ideas float around my head. It shows how well you constructed the scenery in such a small scope without making it too much of an info dump.

The perspective will keep moving around with every chapter. To show how each character thinks and applies their values to the world.

On the matter of kobolds. No one pays heed to the staff until they help put poison in the wine. Redgaze understands this better than anyone present.
