would there ever be a moment that her sister would find this out? she's missing a lot of belly time... or does she know of this already and is a safeguard against people running if they manage to open the door?

No, Gabi would never tell her sister about this. Emily is bad on her own. To Emily, Gabi tries to be a role model and show that eating people is wrong
