Noriel is a Sorora Sub angel, an underdevelopped angel who has not yet fully ascended to an angel. Therefore she has underdevelopped stubby wings and barely any angelic abilities apart from a higher resistance to magic or mental attacks.
She is very naive and believes the reason for her not ascending is that she hasn't proven her worth yet and therefore she always tries hard to be a good angel, even though it rarely amounts to anything.
Sorora Subs are, in Samandriel's heaven, usually perceived with pity or with disdain, basically they are homeless angels without rank or status.
Her ragged clothes are sewn together with old robes that used to belong to other angels before they disposed of them.
