The knight was brought in before the King Decarte. He was convicted of murder—slaying a fellow knight, no less. The convicted man insisted it was for a good reason, that there was an explanation—but that was what they all said, wasn’t it?
 
Carl gulped as he was led in chains to the king. The knight had tried to explain what had really happened to the guards, but nobody listened. And now, he was probably being led to his death.
 
But the sentence actually surprised him.
 
“You are to go on a quest to find my daughter, Princess Farona,” King Decarte ordered him. The tiger king snapped his fingers, and a map was produced and handed to Carl immediately. Another snap, and a painting of his daughter was placed in Carl’s hands: an anthro boar, with a silver crown upon her head. “She is in a tower to the north, trapped within. Find her.”
 
Carl bowed low. “Thank you for your mercy, your majesty, I am—
 
“I assure you, no one has ever returned from this mission,” the king said. “But if you do, you will be set free.”
 
And so, the knight was given a horse (the worst of the litter) and armor (the rustiest set), and was sent off on his mission. Though the man was tempted to escape, he knew doing so would make him wanted in all the kingdom—no, Carl was honorable, and decided to fulfil the quest.
 
It took a few days of searching and checking the king’s map, but he did find the tower. It was a winding thing, placed far into the wilderness, away from all civilization. Carl left his horse outside, and cautiously opened the tower door.
 
Inside was a large, luscious bedroom, fit for a princess. When the knight entered, a figure stood up from the enormous bed, and turned around. She was wearing a beautiful dress, and though she had no crown, Carl had no doubt: this was Princess Farona.
 
“About time, Dad,” the boar grunted, standing from her bed. “I’ve been hungry for /days/.”
 
“Princess, I am here to—” Carl stopped in confusion. “Wait, what do you mean by ‘hungry’?”
 
“I mean,” Princess Farona smirked, walking up to the knight and tracing a finger down his armor, “that you’re my new meal, sweetheart.” She smiled, and revealed sharp, deadly teeth behind her snout. “So bow to me.”
 
The knight thought for a moment. Perhaps she just wanted sex? But if she was really going to eat him . . .
 
No, that would be absurd.
 
“Very well,” Carl said, bowing to the princess. “I am your servant.”
 
The boar grinned. Now it was time to test his intentions. “Good, fair knight. Now take off your armor.”
