Her name foretold her demise. :P

Rayne is the protagonist of the "Bloodrayne" series, and while she may get her due sometime in the future, we're focusing on her delicious best friend Mynce this week. In the original game, Mynce is unceremoniously devoured whole by a spider-like creature called a Maraisreq, and while the sounds were actually quite nice, the scene was quick and the graphic fidelity not up to today's standards (the game came out in October 2002). So in October of 2020, we're giving you the fidelity it rightly deserves.

"Dhampir agents of the Brimstone Society, Mynce and Rayne, have been dispatched to Mortton, Louisiana to quell a Maraisreq infestation. Rayne proceeds to destroy the nests, sending survivors to the graveyard to be guarded by Mynce. But before Rayne can return, the Maraisreq launch a surprise attack on the graveyard, and Mynce isn't strong enough to fend them off on her own. She, along with the survivors, are doomed to become a feast for the bloodthirsty beasts."
