When Ninian was imprisoned many times in the past, they had to keep many guards nearby to watch her. However, some guards got genuinely concerned when the young girl was not moving at all, looking lifeless. In the case of this female guard, she tried to go in and check to see if the girl was ok when she wouldn't move to get her meal. Sure enough, Ninian was fine but the guard wound up being the meal for her. None of the guards ever did notice Ninian's meal's disappearance but they figured that she quit. Some other guards disappeared too and was assumed they quit too. It seemed they were too stupid to piece together the disappearances of several guards and the continuous growth of Ninian's now voluptuous body.
