Because the rats are looked down on by most people they don’t have many options for relationships. Thus you get a brother and sister fucking each other and also a badger. Interspecies pregnancies in this setting are pretty rare. Dragons can and do produce children with many sorts of creatures but in most other cases magic is required for interspecies breeding. And that magic IS out there. There are potions and even "love springs" out in the wild which have generated a lot of odd hybrids. Unless such a potion or spring is involved, though, Carla can fuck Bart all night long and be confident she won’t end up with a bun in the oven.

Lycanthropy is a disease in D&D. Or a form of magical curse. The most common way to get it is to be bitten by a Were who is in their animal or beast person form, but it’s possible to get it from birth if one or both of your parents are Weres. It is also possible to get it from having sex with Weres. You’ll usually get it from being bitten, the other two are less common. Luckily Bart is immune as it only affects humanoids.
