Or, "This Girl's Not a Clown, She's the Whole Circus"
In which, uninhibited by the art of revision, my true nature as a terminally-aimless rambler comes out. Also introducing some old friends(?) of mine, the "Three Angel Sisters."
Months have passed, but the third entry in "Skai's Monologues" is finally here. So much for "it will begin again soon." Where have I been, you may ask? Well, it's the usual combination of real-life obligations and mental health stuff that I'm sure you've seen a million times from other creators, so I won't bore you with that.
Anyhow, point is, I'm back! For how long, I can't say. I can guarantee you, though, that I have more to show for my absence than just this behemoth of a story. There's more "Human on the Inside" on the way, and I have a general roadmap in my head for this series as well.
Length-wise, this one was originally planned to closer to my last two Skai's Monologues, but I just kinda kept going and going. That's a trend that has ended up carrying into my other WIPs, but I'll try to pare those down to more readable lengths.
I couldn't do that for this one, though, as per the "no revising, deleting, or rewriting" restrictions I placed on myself.
Ah, you want to know why I'd do that to myself? Because I'm a masochist, obviously. Also because I needed a gimmick to keep things interesting. I want you guys to never know what to expect with this series.
Really hope you look forward to seeing what nonsense I come up with next.

Really good, I wanna Linda find someone to want to be eaten
Posted by YepMcNope 2 years ago Report
Glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I'm sure Linda will figure out a way of finding willing prey. Her mind may be an enigma, but she's smarter than she looks, you know.

I would like she to eat me, but unfortunately I'm a neko not a human uwu

If a kitty cat came up to her and asked to curl up in her belly, I'm sure she wouldn't hesitate, haha. She'd never want to digest you, though. She loves cats too much for that!

It must be very comfortable to be in there <3

You would make me very happy if you make her eat me or adopt me in some story uwu

I'm sure it's very comfy! And no promises, but who knows what could happen in the future? I sure don't.

A nap there must be like being in heaven
I believed that the gods could see the future
Posted by YepMcNope 2 years ago Report
Usually, but in my case, I *write* the future, so I won't know what the future is until I write it, see? Hehe.
Posted by pendingdelet3fb932b5 2 years ago Report
And what about writing the future is that you decide what will happen or you are like a clairvoyant who sees the future but at first it was inevitable that it would happen
Posted by YepMcNope 2 years ago Report
Well, I'm Skai, of course, so I decide the future as I write it. That's what I was talking about when I said the others were literally part of me. Really, the whole world is. That makes the world of my stories a little lonely, sure, but it's also a lot of fun coming up with things to do next.

Holy smokes, this is the first story I have ever read from you but I am blown away! Sorry, I skimmed through the Angel's re-write of the circus, but I read everything else! Your creative choices were very smart and I love the self-aware nature of everything, it is something I have never seen before in any form of writing (and I use to read a lot of slam poetry back in the day).
I will have to check out your other work, but I don't know if I have the words to express just how much I love what I read. Not only the story part of it, but also the talking to us that you wrote. It was amazing and I am still trying to wrap my head around how to express my thoughts. I have friends that ramble in text and speech (and I ramble in speech all the time if you get to know me) and it honestly shows the truest part of a person. Thank you for sharing this with us, everything about it.
I am sorry I do not have the words to describe my feelings that this story gave me, I may be a writer but I am still Autistic and still struggle with expression. Which you have truly overcame if this is an example. I hope you have a good day and again, thank you for sharing yourself with us.

Thank you, thank you. It really does mean a lot! Especially coming from a fellow writer! I'm not familiar with your stuff myself, but it looks like the sort of thing I'd like, so I'll have to check it out at some point. If you have LIAS's seal of approval, you've gotta be good, haha.
The Circus scenes were... experimental, to say the least, and they rather deliberately read like bad RP, but I felt like that was a fun and unique way to explore these characters, which are themselves different parts of me. I figured it might turn some people off despite my best efforts to shove a few detailed lines in there, but not everything has to be constantly engaging in *that* sort of way... Though, even then, I wouldn't blame anyone for finding it frustrating or uninteresting. Given the chance I probably would have cut it down, but... you know.
I think the name I use for these stories, "Skai's Monologues," is fitting for exactly the reasons you listed. At the end of the day, ALL writing is just rambling into the void, hoping someone might see and appreciate it, but with this series I wanted to focus on that aspect and make it the central theme. To a writer, just what *are* the characters and worlds in a story? If you place yourself in that world with those characters, who are you to them? And where does the audience fit into things? Through exploring the strange solitude of these themes, I hope to understand myself better while connecting with others.
It's a bit hard for me to put it into words too, but I don't know if that's super necessary. I think this is the sort of thing you're allowed to just *feel*, y'know? Anyhow, no need to thank me. Thank YOU for reading and enjoying. Oh, and thanks for the fav, of course~

Ok the circus fight was amazing. I don't think I'll get over like, any of Tara's parts. All three of them fighting to god-mod each other in a story written by a goddess has to be some level of irony as well.
Posted by YepMcNope 1 year ago Report
There's the irony for ya, indeed. That's definitely the kind of vibe I was going for with the story—like an RP turned into a trainwreck—and I was worried I didn't quite nail it, so thanks for the reassurance.

Thank you, thank you! I'm so glad to hear it!
Yeah, one of the big concerns I had was not having enough vore in this one, but the silliness of the author conflict was just so much fun I had to keep going. Not like there's anything I can do about it now... so I'll just blame it on the angels for "ruining" my story~
