"Well, might as well get it over with." You mutter.
It didn't take you long to find her. She definitely was the cautious type, so you will have to introduce yourself before you reveal yourself. And you will have to respect boundaries, so no advances until she is comfortable.
Alright, time to get this inevitable awkward situation started.
"Hello?" You say.
As you predicted, the girl jumped in response to your voice, looking around for you.
"Don't be jumpy, I mean you no harm. Look, I'll respect your space, I won't go close to you, but can you promise you won't freak out?" You ask politely.
"Uh, who are you? What do you want?" She asked.
"My name is Arborik, and this is my home. I don't mean any Ill will to you, I promise." You say, hoping for her to trust you enough to not freak out.
"O-okay, just don't come close, wherever you are." She said.
"Thank you. Here I am, just don't freak out please." You keep talking as you emerge, helping her to find where you are.
As you expected, she stood stock still upon seeing you. You quickly raise your arms, which are devoid of any tools or whatnot, to show you mean no harm, and stop moving once you are well out of shadow, a good fifteen feet away from the girl.
"Y-y-you… y-you're… you're a s-s-s-snake!" She exclaimed, clearly frightened.
"Please, just know I mean you no harm. If I did, I wouldn't have made my presence known. But ignore that, I simply wished to welcome you to my home." You reassure her, staying where you are to try and calm her down.
"O-o-okay… but why?" She asks you as she starts calming down.
"This is my home. Am I not allowed to be a gentleman and welcome ladies who enter my home?" You ask.
You smile in your head as the girl calms down enough where she appears comfortable. You don't want to scare her away. "You… fine with me coming closer now, or no?" You ask politely.
"Um…" She started. "I… don't see why not."
"Thank you. I won't come close, just closer." You slither to about five to ten feet away, keeping your arms in view. "Is this good enough?" You ask.
"Um, I dunno, maybe. I'm not sure." She says.
"I won't come any closer, unless you tell me to." You reassure her.
An awkward silence fills the air as the conversation lulled.
"So, do you mind telling me why you came here? That is, if you feel comfortable doing so." You ask.
She looks at you, uncertainty crossing her face.
