Zadie quickly drew her pistol and tried to aim at the fem-bat, but she couldn't aim properly from the ringing in her ears. She waited a moment for the bat to get a little closer. And the fem-bat went in for a dive at them Zadie took a shot.
“SSSCCCRRREEEEE!” The bat shrieked. Zadies aim was off, but the bullet still hit the bat's wing causing her to flail in the air. Tried as she might to mantain her altitude, she began to plummet down the shaft landing hard on the room of the elevator below. Zadie looked down and the fem-bat wasn't moving.
“...You two alright?..” Zadie asked. Jake turned to her and nodded.
“I...I-I'm fine...” Jane Studdered.
“We have to keep going Jane, we don't have time to hang around.” Zadie ordered. Jane began to work up her courage and began climbing again with Jake and Zadie following behind her. The three of them reached the top floor and luckily the elevator door was busted open. The three of them climbed into the door and too a look around.
“We need to find the last set of stairs to the roof...” Zadie explained. She looked at her watch and sighed. “And we don't have much time either...”
