You decide that now that Ethan has some free time, it would be a good idea to explore the garden with him. There are two big reasons you don't do this without him or your father. The obvious reason is it's so vast, you could get lost. Ethan knows his way around the garden. The second reason is wild pokemon live in the garden. Wild pokemon only have animal instincts, making them dangerous if they are bigger or stronger than you. They won't listen to reason or seem to have a conscious of any kind. This makes them see pokemon such as yourself as food or a threat. They are called "wild" in the area you live in, but you have heard pokemon from out of town call them other names such as "feral" or "beasts". Pokemon with reason such as yourself or Ethan are called "civilized" inn your area although you heard a foreigner call them "enlightened".
Not all wild pokemon are dangerous. In fact, some of them make delicious snacks and battle experience. Others just avoid you all together and some civilized pokemon find it unethical to kill those ones just for experience. On the flipside, not all civilized pokemon are friendly. They can just as easily eat you, hold you for ransom, or other nasty things if they are not trustworthy. Most pokemon civilizations, including yours, don't allow eating civilized pokemon, but do allow the eating of wild pokemon due to the differences in their mindset and the fact that predators can be civilized too.
"I want to go to the garden" you announce. Ethan nods "It's a beautiful day out. Did you want to pick some berries or do you feel like hunting today? You could even pick some flowers for Zodia." Ethan crosses his arms and gives you a wink, making you turn away and say...
