You decided to go back. Not noticing before you were going in a downward direction, your hands and arms were now burning from the strain of having to fight gravity to go back up.
You tried using your feet, but found no support in the wall.
At some point though, you eventually made it back to the tunnels' outer wall. Just a little more, and you could easily get back to the tunnel!
