You head down the sorority side of the street quickly, moving cautiously past the were-lion and were-tiger houses without being noticed by any of the animal/human hybrids hanging out on the lawns in a state of perpetual kegger. The situation gets a bit stickier, however, as you reach the Bear House - it seems that someone has dumped a rather large puddle of honey on the sidewalk, and you've walked right into the middle of it.
"Shit," you yell, and immediately regret it as you see the ears perk up on a very large half-woman, half-grizzly relaxing in a rickety lawn chair not far from you. She gets up, lays down on her stomach at the edge of the Bear House lawn, and watches with utter amusement as you struggle.
"Hiya, cutie," she says with a smirk. "Whereya goin?"
"Library," you say tersely as you try to yank your left foot out of the honey, burying your right foot even deeper.
"Having a little trouble there, aren't you, guy?"
"No I'm not," you snap. "I'm fine."
"Mmm-hmm, sure you are. I can help you out of there, if you like."
"What, and into your stomach? No thanks."
"Hey, don't flatter yourself, little guy. You're not exactly a filling meal. I've picked stuff bigger than you outta my teeth."
"That's pleasant."
"Look, do you want me to help you or not? A nano covered in honey isn't gonna make it too far on this street. "
You stop and sigh. She does have a point. "So if I let you help me," you say, "you promise to take me to the library, right? You're not gonna eat me?"
"I promise," she says.
You think about it for a moment, weighing your options.
