You are thrilled to see a lake up ahead knowing the Charizard wouldn't be able to follow you unber the water, assuming you were able to me it there quick enough...you can hear him gaining on you. Fortunately you were able to jump in the water just before he had you in his clutches and swam away. You peek out just a little to see the Charizard stomping around angrily, not pleased that you got away. Eventually he gave up and flew back where you'd came from.
