You turn and run back the way you came. The crocodile tromps after you, moving surprisingly fast, and doesn’t seem to want to let such a tasty morsel get away. Now what?
You’re trying to figure out what to do as you run… and there are too many things to keep track of. While you circumvent a few dangerous-looking plants, you fail to see one that doesn’t stick out…
Suddenly, as you are running along the edge of the jungle, you see movement from the corner of your eye. You let out a scream of fright, but it gets cut off immediately as some kind of slimy green maw engulfs your head. Screaming in panic but in a muffled manner, you try to pry your head free, only to have whatever it is slurp you up like spaghetti…
The croc tromps passed, still looking for you, unaware that you are now squirming helplessly inside a long, stretchy hollow vine. You’re sliding along inside, trying desperately to get air, when you feel your head emerge into some kind of pouch; you gasp, but there’s no more breathable air in here then in the rest of the vine.
You get squirted into the pouch, and land in some kind of fluid. In a breathless panic you try to force your way out, but as you do so you feel the sack constrict around your nude form as the vine draws out all the air. You squirm helplessly, but there’s no escape… you are left hanging far off the ground, utterly trapped, and before all that long your lovely form has stopped moving.
Over the course of the next few weeks, your form will lose its definition as the Pod Plant’s digestive juices break you down into paste; eventually the pod will be full of nothing but liquid, even your bones dissolved into useful nutrients. At that time the pod will drain, ready to contain its next victim…
Hmm… maybe letting the croc have you would have been quicker.
