Irony of Ironies - Steve found himself looking up at a giant female dog, one that looked a lot like the one that bit him. He tried to scooch away, only to be picked up.
"It's alright," she said. "Let me help you." She then carried him into another room, and placed him on a counter. "Could you take your pants off?"
"What for?" Steve asked.
The dog looked at him. "It's that or I get a pair of scissors to cut your pant leg off," she said. "I need to check your injury."
Steve gulped, and reluctantly undid his pants, taking them off, groaning in pain.
"Now, don't worry too much," the dog said, as she pulled something out of a cupboard. "I'm a surgical assistant, that specializes on the smaller Anthrons. Now, what's your name?"
"Steve."
"I'm Clara," the dog said, as she got out a cloth, and poured something onto it. "This will help clean the wound, and is safe to use on humans." She carefully cleaned the injury.
Steve grimaced as the giant dog worked on him.
"So, why did you try to break into my place?" Clara asked.
Steve gulped. "I got lost, got attacked by a wolf. Yours was the first place I came to."
Clara looked into his eyes. "There's something you're not telling me."
"I'm sorry, but I'm not used to dealing with Anthrons," said Steve. "That, and I've had a fear of canines for a long time."
Clara looked at him. "Okay, I can handle that. Still, I need to make a call to Emergency Services."
"Wait, you mean like the police?" Steve asked.
"No, an ambulance," Clara said, as she wrapped the injury up. "There's only so much I can do about your injury." She began to walk away.
"No, please, don't call anyone," said Steve.
"Why?" Clara asked. "Are you trying to hide from someone?"
"Something like that," said Steve.
