All of a sudden, the monotonous hum is interrupted by an unusual bang followed by several jerks of the elevator floor. This causes both you and the woman to lose balance, and after multiple flickers of the light, an irritating chalkboard scrape is heard as the metal elevator grinds with the metal of the shaft. After the squeaking dies down, you find yourself looking at the woman who has all but lost her covering, and immediately you find yourself having to hold the blood in the nose back before turning and offering a helping hand to her. Upon controlling the nosebleed, you find your footing and proceed to lend your hand to the woman, and then you take the initiative to hit any and all emergency buttons.
Just your luck: the elevator is old enough and not as well maintained as it should've been. Everything except the call button is basically useless in their dormant state. However, you're able to make a call out to 911 on the supplied rusty PA. This piece of business taken care of, you proceed to ask the woman what she wants to do now as they wait.
"Oh, I have a few ideas up my sleeve." As do you, but do you take that chance?
