It seems like a long shot, but it should only take a minute to look at the slowpoke. You rush up to the pink monster. First, you press your ear to his side, listening for anything that may be digesting. The slowpoke turns its head to look at the strange pikachu who has its ear pressed to its stomach, wearing a goofy, dumb grin.
grrrrrrrr grmp, a soft sound sings to you from inside. It sounds more hungry than like it's digesting something. You take your ear off the blubbery gut, and the slowpoke returns to its default position. You head around front to probe further. You stand just a foot away and ask the slowpoke bluntly, "did you eat the pichu?"
To your surprise, the slowpoke responds but not with words. Its mouth opens wide and with a big "mmmmwwwwaaaaaaahhhhhh" reveals his empty pinkish maw. It opens so wide you take a step back in astonishment. In the back, a fleshy, gaping gullet almost beckons you, like a warm burrow during a winter’s cold snap. It's so big, it could take you down whole. A hardy exhale forces a sultry wind in your face, spraying hot spittles of saliva on your fur and overwhelming you with a rank smell - so rank that you gag a little and cover your nose. But the smell has no hint of rodent and instead smells of fish and river sludge.
It seems pretty conclusive and you should just look elsewhere… but maybe, just maybe, Jet's body is in there. But the only way to find out for sure is to crawl down that food tunnel…
