You raise your pistol and fire wildly into the crowd. The mix of angry and fearful screams turns into that of shouts of pain and terror. Several vault dwellers drop to the ground. The others scatter. You see an opening and run for it, shooting as you go.
Now the whole atrium erupts with gunfire. Security falsely believes someone started shooting at them, and a horrible massacre ensues. You're already at the door by the time the screaming abruptly stops. You don't dare look back. You just keep running for your life. You try not to think about friends or family who may have been caught in the crossfire if they weren't already devoured...
All you can hear now is your bare feet patting against the ground as you sprint through the silent corridors. The security officer who was after you before is no longer giving chase. Within moments, you're finally at the vault door...
There's nowhere to go but forward. You reach the Vault door.
