Super Princess Peach: Hunger Pain Panic - Page 27 - Advanced Instructions: Challenges - By MasterSpunk68 - Overview
"It is important to challenge yourself in life, or you may too soon face death. I truly believe those words, and so I will teach you how to face your own challenges and triumph in life.
Challenges come in many forms. They can be as simple as picking a lock, or as difficult as climbing a mountain without slipping and falling. Oftentimes, they come with unique instructions; read them carefully and follow them closely to attempt to complete them, then select a link based on how you performed.
One especially prominent type of challenge is the Die Challenge, which can be used to gauge reaction time, strength and skill, among other things. When a Die Challenge appears, marked by this die icon:

you will need to pull up a virtual 20 sided die in a new tab, or use one physically if you have one on-hand, and roll it. Based on the number you roll, select a link and face the consequences. Certain actions have higher risks associated with them, and as such require higher rolls to succeed in. Sometimes though, these have higher rewards associated with them as well, so you will have to weigh the pros and cons of both and come to a conclusion based on them.
It is important to note that Mini Stars can come in handy during challenges. Collecting these through exploration will allow you to spend them during challenges and boost your odds of succeeding, but once they are spent, they are gone permanently, so use them wisely, and keep close track of how many you have left.
