*FLUSHHHH*
Flo's heart leapt when an incredibly loud sound filled the toilet. Then, much to her surprise, the water started to fill... and swirl. Seconds later, the tiny mermaid was sucked downward, and immediately disappeared from view.
Flo screamed as she was whisked away into the winding, porcelain tubes of her predator's plumbing. The tiny mermaid had been caught in whirlpools before, but never had she before encountered such a forceful and violent current. At one point, the rushing water slammed her against the wall, and she blacked out.
When Flo came to, she found herself floating in the most disgusting water she had ever swam in. All around her, the various bodily discharges of predators like the one she had just come out of floated and swirled around her. She was in a sewer.
Flo wanted to retch. Instead, she was seized by the sudden realization:
I'm... free? Flo thought, her heart leaping with joy. I'm free!
In the end, it took Flo four hours to find the ocean - four hours of swimming through the heaviest, most disgusting sludge imaginable. But when she finally splashed back into the bay for the first time since being caught all that time ago, she was ecstatic.
Thinking forlornly of her lost sisters, and treasuring the chance to live she just barely achieved, Flo swam away into the sea.
