You thrust your spear into the figure of the fatigued wolf and hear a bark split through its tired lips. You try to rip the spear out from its chest only to find that it is stuck; it follows the tired wolf's body to the ground with a thump, spear sticking out laterally.

You stare at the unmoving creature for a few moments before a glint of moonlight catches the other wolf's eye staring dead at you. You stagger backwards, surprised by the silent feral stare, and remain silent.

What seems like minutes pass in a few seconds and is ended by a brief clomp from the wolf's stained muzzle, "Let's go," he states quietly, sprinting off into the dark.


You stand in shock, unsure of what to do. You have no idea where you're running to and you have no idea if you killed the right wolf. A conflicted sigh escapes your lips as you stand still in the humid night air.

You run your hand along your arm thoughtfully before your contemplation is interrupted by a distant howl, surely a way to communicate position.

Is it really best to follow a possibly wounded wolf, reeking of blood? Would it be better to lay low and try to conceal yourself until day?
