Monstrous Adventures - Page 37 - Single Diamond - By TrustFall - Overview
You wimp out and decide to do the single diamond. It proves to be a smart decision, because descending down even to the intermediate slope below turns out to be a hell of a chore; you wind up bruising and battering yourself from all the tumbling you do. It's a wonder you don't trigger an avalanche. You get the hang of things once you hit the intermediate slope and it all eventually comes back to you, but by the time you reach the bottom, you realize the sun is starting to set. You decide to hang up your snowboard and go back to your room to lick your wounds.

The next day, a good number of people arrive. By the time you awaken for breakfast, the slope is filled. After a few days, you note that rumors have floated around that several people had disappeared over the past few days. While you never run into trouble for the rest of your trip, you can't help but feel that maybe by choosing to tackle the easier courses first, you might have saved your own bacon. So to speak.

You return to the monotony of your 9-to-5 job by the end of the week, feeling refreshed enough to tackle another half decade of aviation work.
