You see numerous empties of rabbits stacked all over the place and realize they probably get eaten a lot. This thought sends a shiver of excitement through your spine.
"Can I be a rabbit?" You ask, blushing.
Jill smiles knowingly, "Of course you can. Our rabbits are genetically engineered to both taste delicious and supply all of our predators with all of the nutrients they need to be healthy. Because we go through so many of them, they have been mass produced and are essentially clones of each other, so there is not much of a variety to choose from."
She guides you to a hall lined with rodents and rabbits. "Pick one and we can get started."
Since they all looked pretty much the same, you settled for the one nearest to you.
"Great, please follow me to the scan table so we can begin the transcription process." Jill motioned for you to follow her as a worker quickly labeled the empty you chose with your name and sent it off on a conveyor belt.
You follow Jill through another hallway and into a room on the side. The room appeared to be no larger than the average doctors office. Instead of an examining table in the middle, there was what appeared to be a tanning bed next to the wall. Jill guides you over to it, opens it up and motions for you to lay down in it. You quickly realize that this is no tanning bed; this is the scanning table, used to transcribe everything from your brain into that little rabbits brain.
After laying down in the scanning table Jill hooks up an IV to your arm. "Relax, you might feel weird for a few minutes when you become the rabbit. That's normal. Are you ready?"
"I'm ready" You relax and notice that the table is surprisingly comfortable.
"Have fun!" She exchanges one last smile with you before closing the lid over top of you. For the next minute or so you just lay there listening to the ambient robotic noises of the table around you. Then your vision goes blindingly white and you feel as if you're free falling. It's very scary. You try to scream but nothing will come out. Then all of sudden everything goes black and you feel as if you've been drugged.
It takes you a minute to realize that the reason everything is black is simply because your eyes are closed. Opening them reveals a blurred image of a room you've never seen before.
A voice echo's at you, "Get up, get up. It's okay."
You try to stammer to your feet only to fall on your side. Your vision is becoming sharp now and you can see workers around you and computer monitors. Looking down you see that you are indeed a rabbit. The wooziness seems to be fading now as you regain your equilibrium and finally make it to a quadrupedal stance.
One of the workers double checks his screen and tells everybody "everything looks good!" That was their queue apparently because that's when a door swung open leading to the wilderness while another worker grabbed you and tossed you outside.
The door clanks shut behind you as you get up and try to re-learn how to walk.
You look around and try to get a bearing for where you are. Ahead of you is a clearing. To your left there is a pathway that which has a sign that reads "Rainforest." To your right there is another path with a sign that reads "Swamplands."
Which direction will you go?
