East Adephagia Technical University (E.A.T.U.) - Page 69 - Someone new approaches. - By Aces - Overview
Before you can do anything else, you're both interrupted as the elevator door opens behind you. Standing in the entrance, a seven foot tall rabbit anthro with a bulky build stares the both of you down. He's dressed in office place attire, and wears a pair of glasses upon his muzzle. He asks, “What's going on in here?”

Doki backs off from you. “N-Nothing.” She puts on a fake, innocent smile.

“It didn't sound like nothing,” the rabbit retorts. You see that he is wearing an ID badge, so he must be staff, but you can't see the name from this angle.

“I was just going on up to get food,” Doki says. “I was helping this freshman find his way to the food court.”

The rabbit narrows his eyes on you. “Freshmen are to report to their dorms first and foremost. I will escort you there...” He holds out his hand. “Your keys, if you don't mind?” With little other choice, you turn over your keys. The rabbit anthro examines them. “Room 319? Follow me,” he instructs firmly.

You begin to follow the rabbit anthro, leaving Doki in the elevator. Doki emits a sigh of relief as the rabbit anthro leaves, though she does glare hungrily at you until the elevator door closes again.

As you walk out of the Student Center, the rabbit anthro introduces himself. “I am Professor Maxim, by the way. You really need to be more careful on this campus. If I hadn't shown up when I did... or if Doki was less patient...” He sighs. “But, I digress.”

He continues to lead you on toward Velvet Hall, frequently looking back to make sure you hadn't wandered off. Eventually, you arrive in the large dorm complex. It's the second largest dorm on campus, and the third largest building overall. There's three entrances, but the closest is the main entrance at the front and center. You're brought straight through the main entrance, where you find a small coffee shop embedded in the far wall. They are closed at the moment, but according to the sign, they will be open starting this coming Monday; the same time that class begins.

A few students are wandering the halls, and you notice an elevator left of the coffee shop. There's also a stairwell that goes up through the main lobby, all the way to the third floor balcony above. You can see that a petite young harpie sits perched upon the third floor railing, preening herself as she watches you and Maxim below. A sign next to the elevator indicates that the room numbers are ordered from left to right, with the first number denoting which floor. If you are in room 319, then you are on the third floor, to the south end of the building.

Maxim brings you to the elevator. On the way up, he explains, “The floors are divided between male and female, generally. There are some exceptions but they are few and far between.” He places the keys in your hand now. “There's fifty rooms on each floor in Velvet Hall, except the bottom floor, which consists of the main lobby, a study hall on the north side, and a gaming room on the south side, plus things like communal showers, bathrooms, storage, vending machines, etcetera. I think that covers everything.” As the elevator door opens again, he returns your keys at last. “You should be able to find your way from here. The rooms are numbered, so just follow the signs if you get lost.”

You step off the elevator, and Maxim gives you the parting words, “Think before you act, and you'll make it through Freshman year.” The elevator door closes on him, and begins to descend back downstairs.
