You are a Pikachu wandering around in the Viridian forest. You spend your days hiding from the odd trainer and defending yourself from agressive Weedle or Beedril that come your way. As far as you can tell you are the only other Pikachu in the forest, and sometimes it can get lonely. You don't remember how you came to the forest. To you, you have always been here. You've survived on the indigenous plant life and various berries in the forest, but your favourite thing to eat is the Pokemon food trainers feed to their companions. You've been able to nibble on a few morsels every now and then left over from passers by.
One night, after a particular thrashing from a pissed off Pidgeotto, you catch the sweet scent of delicious Pokemon food from within the forest. You're very hungry from the fight and decide to follow the scent, hoping to get lucky with a free meal. The scent leads you to a small tent in a clearing. A light glows from within the tent and the silhouette of a person can be seen inside. It looks like they are getting ready for bed.
The scent coming from the tent is so strong you are sure there is much more than a few crumbs of Pokemon food within. You very much want to try and sneak some food but are a little hesitant to go for it. Trainers usually are mean to you and try and attack you with their Pokemon companions. You are already pretty hurt and going in could be dangerous.
