Monster Island - Page 8 - Break free - By Dragonblaze - Overview
You did everything to break the relaxation holding you captive. You couldn't let this happen to Yrissa! Yes, she wasn't exactly the most normal of people, but she was your friend! She earned that! No matter what you did, all you could make was the slightest shift here and there.

"Stop moving, prey! Or would you rather I put you to sleep first?" Kaida threatened. You ignored him, continuing to push and pull, "that's it!" Kaida grabbed hold of your face, and he locked eyes with you, glowing bright with colours. "Forget that naughty kitty, make room for me and me alone in that tiny little prey head of yours. Embrace my coils, embrace your-"

A blue tail shot out and wrapped around Kaida's head, squeezing tightly as if it didn't want to risk letting go. The snake pushed and pulled and kicked and thrashed, but eventually he began to calm and fall limp. His coils loosened, and you fell over limp, but two tails catched you and kept you from falling onto the ground. The snake was laid down after a while, and soon your limbs began to well and truly respond to you again.

"Thank you, thank you, I so thought I was done for there, Outsider, truly I did," Yrissa spoke to you, most likely to make sure you weren't under some spell," "oh, but this isn't good, once he wakes, he's going to be so mad, and once the tribe finds out, they're going to hunt us down, oh this is so bad, so bad…"

You watched her cry and worry, composure returning slowly as you observed her fearing for her life. Then, a thought came to mind. A crazy one, but a slightly okay and somewhat good plan. You told her it as soon as she calmed down.

"W-what? Leave and hide more inland?" Yrissa was uncertain about it, "but that's dangerous, even though I'm a monster, I'm not that dangerous, and there are monsters that delight on kitsunes, if we go…"

"The alternative is waiting to be caught by that tribe," you reasoned.

Yrissa took a few moments to think, then realised you were right. There was no other safe option. So you packed your things, and made your way deeper inland.

Now, your adventure truly begins.
