"There's something you can help me with right now if you want to get started with your duties." the headmistress adds. You can't help but cast a suspicious glance at her stomach. If you were in a corny story, that's the sort of line that would almost certainly preface your consumption. Luckily, as her eyes follow your gaze, she explains "You can take over Natalie's old position; we need a replacement."
"I'll show you the ropes." Roxy volunteers when you accept the offer, "Follow me." As you do so, she continues "First thing is you should probably try to be a bit careful since you're only a freshman. Eating a hall monitor generally carries a penalty of digestion, but if you happen across a big, intimidating senior you're probably better off leaving her to us."
"What rules should I be enforcing?" you ask, realizing that you don't even know what your job entails.
"It's a very filling, er, fulfilling task." Roxy says with a faint grin, "Sometimes the headmistress will send us to apprehend certain troublemakers who have become notorious for flaunting her authority, but it general a good rule of thumb is if you're hungry a rule is being broken. Let me demonstrate. You! Come over here." she says to another girl in the hallway. Seeing your uniforms, the girl seems to hesitate for a moment, but Roxy beckons imperiously and finally the student approaches nervously.
"Hello officers." she says quietly, "I hope everything's okay."
Roxy glares witheringly. "Why are you cutting class? That's a digestible infraction."
"I'm not!" the girl replies, bemused, "You must have the wrong person. This is a free period for me."
"Contempt of lawful authority is also a digestible offense." Roxy smiles wickedly as she pounces.
A few gulps later, as she swishes a few stray bits of hair from her teeth, Roxy continues her lesson. "Contempt is a *burp* versatile charge. Pretty much anyone can be charged with it. Or if you want some variety you can make up any old charge you like; it's not like any witnesses will be brave enough to come forward. You can also demand that people do things for you, and if they refuse then they're showing contempt."
It looks as if Roxy wants to tell you more, but she comes to a sudden halt. "This is your post, but I'm actually supposed to be giving a few girls 'detention' right now, so I can't hang around. Good luck!"
