You are practically fuming as you sit and wash dishes in a rapid and sporadic manor, throwing soapy water into your own face as you move your wet wrinkly hands across a cutting board that smells like old vegetables.
"Why couldn't these damn dishes wait until morning!"
You say to yourself.
"I can't believe Lieutenant Redbane sentenced me to this wretched job...for the third week IN A ROW. And all I did was tell her how totally stupid it was of us to be defending this old run down fort".
You continue to scrub as you're internal rant continues for another couple of minutes. After taking a deep, defeated breath, you finally give in and decide to try and hurry up your job so you can just forget about all of this and get some sleep.
That is, until you hear a quiet, almost inaudible sound from behind...
