Pokemon: Predators among us. - Page 99 - Finding the Perfect Fit - By Jayezox - Overview
You decide it would be best to help everyone out. Besides, this "mystery dungeon" thing sounds like an adventure as dangerous as it is. You nod at your friends confidently.

"Thank you" said Norm, "by the way do you know how to fight?" You shake your head and droop your ears. Maybe this wasn't as good of an idea as you originally planned. "That's okay" Norm reassured you, "Leo can teach you two basic moves for an Eevee. He knows tackle and quick attack which any Eevee can learn easily. Meanwhile, I'll attend town hall and see if we can join a team, even if it's temporary. Since we haven't formed an official team yet, we might have to join one as trainees. Up to six pokemon at a time can cross the portal to most mystery dungeons. Any more enter, and our atoms will destabilize or something like that. That's why I'm picking teams of three. Anyway, I'll see you two in a while."

For how young he is, Leo is surprisingly good at teaching you the two moves. Not that they were difficult to learn, but never being a pokemon before made it tricky at first.
Tackle is simple enough. Just slam your body into the target. Quick attack is a bit trickier. Using what you learned from tackle, you also had to sprint at high speeds. You were even surprised you were capable of it at first. After your mind got used to your new body, it was like riding a bicycle. You were zipping back and forth between target hay piles like it was nobody's business.

After a quick break and some lunch of poffins cooked by Leo, Norm came hopping back with some cards. They looked like business cards of some sort with pictures of three pokemon on them. "I was surprised there were a lot of teams that wanted us" Norm declared "and it's all thanks to your story Sota. Many pokemon are interested in humans and your story, especially this team called Team Seer. I picked all the teams that would be a good fit for us. Some of them even gave me good advice, although I think they were also advertising. This Salandit from Team Insight told me we should join a team of at least two females. She told me groups of five or six of the same gender tend to go missing from the move attract or even worse, the fell pheromones of some pokemon like Sallazle."

Norm hands you the handful of cards "don't dwell on what team to join. We need to hurry. We don't have to stay because we'll only be temporary members. We can always join a different team or form one ourselves later and all these teams are cool with it."

You read each card:

The first one has an Absol, an Espeon, and a Ninetales on it with "Team Seer" printed on top. You read the description on the bottom, "Team Seer seeks to discover the future of our region by learning the fortune of its inhabitants.

The second card has a Salandit, a white Vulpix, and a Purrloin on it with "Team Insight" on the top. The bottom reads "We're a group that seeks knowledge through exploration"

The third card has a Growlithe, a Luxio, and a Rockruff on it with "Team Tenacity" on the top. It reads, "Team tenacity are some predators in the making that love to battle. Even if you aren't a predator, you're always welcome if you like to tussle with the tainted to keep our predators happy."

The fourth card is... three Eevees? The team name is "team evolution" It even has an unusual description, "Join us fellow Eevees! We'll get along well, unless two of us want to evolve into the same evolution." Norm noticed you eyeing that card and spoke up, "They said Leo and I can join since we have such an interesting Eevee. Other than that, I'm as confused as you are."

The fifth card baffles you even more as you read it. It has one pokemon on it? It's just a Lucario with a cowboy hat and a piece of wheat sticking out of his mouth. It reads, "Beast Master Tyrand's Feral Emporium. I have plenty of ferals waiting to join your team for an adventure." "Norm?" You question your amphibian friend. "Well, I thought if you didn't want to join a team, we could just have one, even if it's unofficial. We still need three more so we could pick feral pokemon. Those feral pokemon act almost entirely out of instinct and don't have the social behavior we do. They also can't speak to us. They communicate through body language and primitive vocal communication. It might be tougher than joining a team in some ways, but in others it might be a better idea."

"Go ahead and pick a team" Norm continued, "We just need to help out for the next few days until we get a good crystal supply. We can always make a permanent decision later."
