The light of the setting Sun fell on your eyes, blinding you momentarily. You cursed as you rubbed your eyes, trying in vain to eliminate the pain.
In the end you decided to go to the city. Going to the mountains would only bring the attention of any wild animal living there on you (if there's any left) and you prefer to sleep on a bed rather than the road.
It didn't take you long to get to the edge of the city, an oxidated Street sign proudly saying: WELCOME TO TAHOE CITY, the rest was devoured by the oxidation.
Continuing the broken road it didn't take you long to find another Street sign, this one in a better state than the other.
