My life in a Voraphile's Future - Page 75 - A chill group, an icy shield - By TheVoreEngineer - Overview
As you consider possibly becoming sustenance for the young girl, your thoughts quickly snap away from your shameful desires back into the reality of being alive and not being digested alive. However, you quickly panic, knowing that the incorrect response could still end up with you being eaten.
You panic, unknowing in what to say, yet as you panic, you hear a slight whisper from beside you, saying "Dude, just give her some money to buy lunch."
As you process the whisper, you quickly whip out your wallet, and tell the girl "Sorry, but I can't be your lunch, but here, take this $10 and buy something nice for lunch." As the words leave your mouth, you can see her switching her vision between you and the money, drool slowly dripping from her mouth, however, to your surprise, she takes the money, giving you a brief smile, and then running off.
You take a sigh of relief and thank the young girl next to you as you begin to calm down, happy that the situation ended in a resolution that made you happy, with the girl next to you quickly saying "No problems."

As lunchtime continues on, the conversation comes up every so often, but mainly the girls eat their lunch as you sit and do the same. Despite being the "Cool Kids" they seem pretty well behaved, even with one of them having a squirming stomach. As you and her exchange glances, you can tell the guilt she feels having to have you sit there, just as you suspect she can feel how uncomfortable you are with the whole situation.
However, to try and break the ice, you hear her pipe up "So, what kind of survivor are you, how long you have to stick it?"
This question comes as a curveball, unknowing such a question would come from a 9-year-old's mouth, yet the question seems to calm you a little, as you respond "I'm a regular survivor, they put me in at the start of middle school, was lucky and didn't get eaten throughout, can't say the same for my friends, but oh well, I'm still here." As these words leave your mouth, many of the girls around the table perk their head up, interested in the fact you just pronounced. You see a slight nod from all the girls, having some level of admiration for being able to survive the school system for that long.

As you begin to divulge into a story, another young girl comes up to you, a little older on the last and tugs at your shirt, grabbing your attention.
Quickly, she asks "Mr, I'm having some trouble finding my bag, can you help me search?" As you consider the request, you can see the eyes of your companions shift in doubt, as you look back to the girl, you can see tears flowing down her face, in a state of panic, unknowing where her bag is. As you start to make a response, you notice that all the girls at the table giving you the exact same face of doubt, as if to signify that they don't approve, yet you know deep down these girls are still the "popular girls", and all it could be is them disproving of her, no matter the case, you need decide if you'll help the young girl with her troubles.
