Blink's Awakening (WIP) - Page 29 - Head To The Kitchen - By Layab547 - Overview
Passing through the short hallway, you enter into the living room... such as it is. Directly to your left is the front door to your home, the built-in window still covered by the small curtain hanging over it, occasionally swelling thanks to the soft breeze. To your right is the kitchen, which melds with the living room at a completely arbitrary invisible line.

In all reality, the two 'rooms' are really the exact same room, but it makes the house feel a bit larger in your mind to split them up.

The living room is where the square wooden table sits surrounded by four chairs; one for each of you and the remaining seat for Lola's dolls. Each 'spot' on the table has a brown clay plate and bowl in front of it, including where the dolls sit, despite their strict diet of absolutely nothing. Aside from that, there is a worn hemp rug in front of the door to give visitors a very brief respite from the texture of wood, and a pile of blankets in the corner you have managed to convince yourself is a 'heater.' Fireplaces, or at least that's what you've heard them referred to as, are basically non-existent in Faron Village, what with everything being made of wood. Not to mention, the surrounding forest has a mind of its own, and pissing it off by burning its dead kin is probably not a good idea.

Speaking of a lack of fire: the kitchen isn't exactly advanced. A smaller wooden table, basically a tree-stump that has been smoothed-out on top, that you use for preparation sits against the wall on the left. A relatively new-looking knife rests on it, your birthday present from Rito. Right next to it is a shiny metal pot, a replacement for your parent's old one that you earned by rounding up the town's Cuccos... You used to like the birds before that day. A covered window is cut into the wall above the stump, the drapes that block it looking a bit more worn than the other set.

That window faces the woods, after all.

The only other door out of your house is on the other side of the kitchen, this time without a window. It opens to a dirt trail that leads to your 'restroom.'

Lastly, there's the 'pantry': three barrels next to kitchen table that hold nuts, fruits, and vegetables respectively. You still owe Ms. Belle for being so patient with you as you learned your way around the kitchen after you took over as head of this house, but now you are pretty confident in your ability as a chef... As much as you can be without any fire to cook with. Above the pantry is a wooden rack you actually pegged into the wall, on which hang a wooden spoon and a wooden ladle, both of which Rito helped you carve out of a dead tree a year or two ago.

Speaking of which, the morning's shipment of supplies should be here soon. You could use this time to relax, or get a head start on your cooking.
