You decide to stay out of the hippo's way and start making your way toward Doki. As you are leaving, you can still hear the staff girl trying in vain to curb the hippo's appetite. "Ma'am! Please, if you would just move to a table, there's plenty of food for--mmprhm!!" There's a short, high pitched squeal, then silence. You turn your head just in time to see the hippo woman toss her head back. As her jaws open, you catch a glimpse of the staff girl lodged waist deep in that slobbery, messy maw. The hippo woman swallows her in one gulp, and silences her for good. You can't even see the bulge in her thick neck or enormous belly. That poor girl is just gone.
Doki taps your shoulder and says, "See what happens when you don't mind your own business?" She giggles. "Saw that coming a mile away. Oh well." Doki pulls you down to sit at her table, where you join several other friendly faces.
Sitting next to you, opposite to Doki, is a Caucasian human who looks to be maybe nineteen or twenty years old. He's wearing a black leather bomber jacket, unzipped, and black jeans to match. The young man offers you an idle wave, then comments, "New boyfriend, Doki?" He gives her a coy smirk.
Doki sticks her tongue out at him and boasts, "Why? You jealous?"
The other boy chuckles, musing at Doki, "Maybe a little." He then teases you directly. "Careful around this one. She's a man eater." Him and Doki both laugh.
