“Tenten! Ino!" Temari cried. "Go around the perimeter and destroy the pillars. Sakura, Hinata, and I will go after Marunomi. Once you two are done with the pillars, come back and meet up with us. Understood?”
“Yes!” Tenten and Ino said and nodded in unison.
Temari turned to Hinata and Sakura. "Alright, let's go," she said. "And be cautious."
Hinata and Sakura nodded and, with that, the trio were off.
Truthfully, Hinata wished she had not been chosen to go after Marunomi. Yes, she knew facing dangerous foes was a part of being a ninja, but there was something different about Marunomi. Not only could Hinata sense she was very powerful, but her merciless predatory nature was truly frightening. In that moment, she really did feel like a lamb being led into the jaws of a hungry wolf. Hinata tried to push such thoughts aside and pressed onward. Marunomi was still only human and she and Sakura and Temari would have to fight her with all their wits and strength. Hinata could only hope it would be enough.
