Commanders, Cults, and Crocodiles - Page 47 - You know, I'm a forest kind of guy. - By WarlockSnorlax - Overview
You pick the forest route and go deeper into the woods. After a short ten minute stroll, you hear a twig snap behind you. You spin around just in time to see an arm retreat behind a tree. Narrowing your non-existent eyes you decide to play along with your stalker's game. You walk along for five minutes more before spinning around and pointing your revolver (well, it's not really yours, but...) behind you to catch a startled creature. You recognize it instantly.

INTELLIGENCE DATA
TYPE:SPECIES
SUBTYPE:INTELLIGENT
SUBTYPE:REPTILIAN

NAME:KOBOLD
DESC: While not the most intelligent of the species that walk this world, kobolds are sneaky and can hold their own in combat. They gather in large groups called tribes, with the roles of boss, doctor, and nipper. Boss and doctor are pretty self explanatory, with the boss leading the tribe and the doctor tending to wounds with primitive medicine, but the nipper has a role not seen in most intelligent social constructs. The nipper has a role similar to that of an Omega in a wolf pack. The nipper's job is to clean the area of the tribe and do other small jobs for higher-ranking kobolds. These jobs can sometimes be morally questioning, but if the nipper did not do its job, the tribe would quickly collapse. Kobolds are fascinated with shiny objects, which can lead them to hoard valuables such as gold, crystal, and [CLASSIFIED} as well as not-so-valuable shiny objects like glass. A brave adventurer may attempt to steal these valuables, but the task is not easy. The hoard is kept in plain sight, which makes it easy for the adventurer to spot, but also for the kobolds to keep an eye on. One kobold may not be much of a challenge, but a whole tribe attacking at once could very easily topple you. Kobolds are highly predatory and oversexual, leading to record reproduction rates. If kobolds have captured an intruding adventurer, it is very, very likely they will devour him, plow him, or both.
