The Cosmos Inside - Page 22 - A slim creature in an enviro-suit. - By WarlockSnorlax - Overview
You approach the enviro-suited alien. The suit is black, with purple decorations covering it. The cloak that it's wearing around its shoulders is also black and purple. From the helmet's thick visor, you can make out two dim orbs staring back at you. One of them is a bit dimmer, as if there's another sheet of glass in front of it. Its wearing a canister about its waist that connects through a tube to its helmet. Using your Math Skills®, you make the creature to be about six and a half feet tall.
"Heya." You say, extending a hand. The creature regards you for several seconds, before shaking your hand and saying "Hello". It has a rather raspy voice, which along with its outfit makes it slightly unnerving. "You sure stand out around here. What's with the getup?" You ask, eyeing the alien's suit once more. "Oh, well... Chemicals present on my species' epidermis have a chance of violently detonating when in contact with oxygen." "...I see. I guess that causes all kinds of problems when you gotta stand in a room with us oxygen-breathing chumps." The alien pauses again. You think it's studying you, because the orbs behind its visor are subtly flicking about. "Quite." the creature says simply. "I guess you can't be breathing oxygen. What's in that canister you're breathing from?" "It is gaseous tellurium. The reason why we breathe it is still not understood by your scientists. I am actually travelling to this station to acquire some. It is produced in great quantities on Urath." "Huh. Guess I can expect to see more of you guys in the near future." You give it your name, before asking for its name. "My name is Vanadium Four. It's a pleasure." "Four? What happened to the other three?" you say, half-joking. "My species has strange naming schemes. It's the closest approximation of what my name means in my language." "Oh, gotcha." Universal translation has still got a long way to go, so things like this are common with aliens.
