You proceeded towards the basement entrance, opening up the hatch and slipping inside. You have taken the Basement path.
You reach into a satchel and procure a torch, taking some time to cast a small fire spell to light it. With a light source available, you make your way through the clustered basement, eyeing everything with caution.
You turn yet another corner, the maze-like basement only just starting to get to you. However, this corner is occupied, specifically by a statue of some kind of jackal wearing what looks to be Egyptian garments. The guy who owned this place had taste, it seems.
Before you could inspect it further, a rush of movement to your side causes you to whip around, only to find nothing, except a shadow that darts around a corner only just after you turned.
