How to deal with the lack of closure?

When I RP, I love long RPs, stories I can read again and again. But it seems that most people that RP don't have the time for that. That's fine, I don't mind shorter, continued RPs. The problem is, finding someone that's able to continue rps past the first time gets me very frustrated. The RP never gets finished. I literally ask people "Promise you won't disappear forever?" at this point. They promise, and then literally never show up again. It makes it hard to start RPs, not because I don't want to take a chance, but I'm an avid reader (of anything fantasy related) and love anime and fantasy there as well. To me, all these incomplete RPs are just anime series's that ended after one or two episodes, right when it got to the good part. Cliffhangers that never get resolved.

I dunno, am I asking too much from people? I guess I got spoiled by someone two years ago, who'd rp with me every day, and we wove a massive expanded universe. She disappeared too after a year and a half, and since then, I've not had anywhere near that kind of closure of complement. The result is me just doing Grab n' gulp rps because its the only way that something actually finishes, it seems. And that's fine, that's just a porno video. But I kinda love hentai that has a plot, too...

I thought it was proper RP etiquette to wait until after the RP to do such things.

You kinda just have to get over it not working out. Its gonna happen. Just have to keep going until you find some people who are willing to keep going anyways and can become regular rp partners.

I understand, because I deal with the same, and worse, so in truth, I've given up on RP.

I don't even find grab and gulp satisfying enough, so I've decided to just forsake RP altogether.

If there was anyone who could handle my firecracker nature and mood shifts, I've not met them yet.

Well, there are only two options, really. You either get used to it and try to cherish the partners who stick around. Or you stop RPing altogether.
Personally, over my ~10.5 years of RPing, even though it's my main hobby, I have taken a few extended breaks precisely because I got tired of putting effort into weaving stories only to have the other person disappear.
When it comes to fetish-related RP, the risk is higher because of what Eznam said - some people are just here to get off. On the other hand, they are also a bit more likely to hold interest than they would in the same story w/o fetishes (I think). It's kind of a trade-off.
Heck, just during my time as a member of Eka's, I made two topics about this because of how partners randomly disappeared at different stages despite the RP seemingly going quite well. Though to be fair, there are plenty of people who lack common courtesy.

Look, it's really unavoidable. Sometimes your RP partner is gonna get eaten before they get back to you. It comes with the territory.

A series of PM posts to and fro before even starting the rp can give you a very good idea about what the other person is actually looking for, and what they're able to do, a long story-based rp or just a quickie. But yes, so true, while I did have some really great long story rps, they're rather rare...

just be sure to communicate with potential partners before starting anything, and make it clear that you're looking for an ongoing story and not a one-shot. put it on your profile, state a reminder whenever you discuss starting a story with anyone, ask them what their schedule is like so you'll know how frequently they plan on posting. other than that, not much you can do except hope that they keep their word or keep looking for people who will.

I've only ever played short-term roleplays, and I'm really keen on trying out something longer, open-ended.

If there's anyone out there who wants to play a medieval fantasy, modern fantasy or SPACE fantasy setting with me, I'd be really happy. As long as I get to be a male predator.

One thing, though, I'll usually only be able to write 1-3 responses a day, but I do try to make them longer to make up for it.
