Commission Stream in pretty quick. (Noon) Posted 10 years ago
Right, here we go. Again I'm still getting used to commission streams, but I think things will go more smoothly this time. I'm still limited to one USB port so if the audio sounds terrible it's because the unplugs/replugs screwed something or I needed the keyboard more than I thought. ANYWAY!

Stream link: http://www.livestream.com/maxtwentystreaming

To commission, send a note here and make me aware of it in the Livestream chat or by any communication method you prefer that will ping me. Alternately, if you have such a method of communication you can just use that,

Provisional pricing, good for this stream only:

- Sketches, $10 per character,...

Commission stream again this week: Friday Posted 10 years ago
I imagine we'll get rolling around noon PST or so. Prices are slightly discounted from regular commissions. Sketches and inks are encouraged; colors are doable, but for the purposes of streams and timeliness there is now offered a cheaper 'it has color' option in addition to the usual 'full power color' setting.

Incidentally, I'm also open for offstream commissions. So you know if anyone would like such a thing o3o http://aryion.com/g4/userpage.commissio ... =MaxTwenty
Commission stream in t minus soon (Noon) Posted 10 years ago
Right so here we go. http://www.livestream.com/maxtwentystreaming We'll be starting in earnest at about noon PST (dst applied, so gmt-7).

Let's set up the faqs, right. Even though none of these have been asked, never mind how frequently.

-How do I commission?
Send a PM forumside to Maxtwenty with your idea. Remember that today we're only doing Sketch and Ink commissions at a drastically reduced maiden voyage price. Once the drawing is done in stream, send payment to [email protected] via paypal. Then receive exported version.

...I think that's it actually. Whoo.
Let's try this out. Test run commission stream on Friday. Posted 10 years ago
So I think I've found a functional method for streaming and I've gotten used enough to this Surface. I'd like to try out this commission stream thing all the cool kids are doing. SO!

I'm going to do a test run commission stream on Friday (That being May 16 of 2014) . Ideally the hours will be between... let's call it Noon to 5 PDT. I think everything should just about be kicked into place and warmed up by then. What we're going to do the first time is sketch commissions, ink if requested (but not color just yet; not because I don't have faith in it but because I don't think timing-wise it'll work out). To give you some idea of what to expect, my aim is roughly 'from nothing to fully inked' in one hour. Though naturally this is neither hard nor fast.

But Max, you...

The reason why I don't upload much. Posted 10 years ago
So this is occasionally something I'm poked with. And as we all know, one poke represents a billion people. Which means over the past year, two billion people have been wondering about this. And although I have a couple topics (You should take note here I have a habit of padding all my estimates by one) that I'd like to discuss in this blagosphere, I'd like to clear up some misconceptions for whoever has been thinking negative things about my upload habits. Which I presume is nobody because everyone who reads this blog is awesome.

Let's start with a ship date. See, when someone says "I put more effort into commissions than drawing for myself," I'm dubious. There are two things that the cynic in me gets out of this. 1) Don't look at my gallery, the work I do for you...

The importance of desire in drawing Posted 11 years ago
Could it be? Holy s%&#, it is! Maybe. Get ready just in case for another instalment of Maxtwenty's guide to drawing!

Remember last time when I said I was going to cover the importance of desire? Two and a half years ago, apparently? Well, by gum, in that time if I was going to find the magic cure-all I was looking for, I would've. So I come to you not with a panacea nor tincture, but a whip and a boot. I stand by the initial point I was going to make: Desire is all-important. For me.

Let's make that clearer. I don't believe it's possible for me to give you a 'magic pill' of sorts that makes you a great artist or even puts you on the...

Bulk uploads: Yay or nay? Posted 11 years ago
So a topic came to my attention recently, and by recently I mean months ago and I just thought of it again and remembered this blog thingus was in fact a thingus. I figure there are worse places to ask the question.

Apparently there are people out there in viewerland who dislike the idea of bulk uploads; that is, artists saving and uploading a bunch of work at once rather than posting it as they finish, making the recent uploads page a nice zippering of different styles. At first I thought the problem was just when someone gratuitously uploads works that take comparatively less effort per image, such as 3D posings or the like. But then it turns out no, this applies to artists who spend hours on each individual piece as well. Being egotistical as balls, this naturally irked...

Still taking commissions Posted 12 years ago
So, since last entry, which can be found here: blog/MaxTwenty/taking_commissions_b-12503.html Hernia repair went well, seems to be healing at a pretty decent clip. Of course, this doesn't mean I can work yet, just that I'm not completely immobile or in blinding pain like last time. So it's definitely better, but still problematic.

Firstly, I thank everyone who's gotten a commission. Mwah o3o

I've run through the last batch, and am still open for commissions if anyone would like. Prices can be found here: http://aryion.com/g4/userpage.commissio...

Taking commissions Posted 12 years ago
Right, so here's the situation.

Initially I thought I would have a lean winter because I didn't make as much money this summer as usual. And on top of that, the recovery period from my upcoming hernia patch was going to be workless, resulting in another financial hammering.

And now I wish things were that simple.

In the time between last entry and now, I've been hammered by phone charges that are all kinds of illegal but that I can't fix (fortunately that plan is now canceled), had the rug pulled out from under me all December by my employer and given piss hours (and I believe possibly shorted on pay, looking into that), screwed over by a car battery that refuses to stay charged for more than five minutes, and various other expenses that I shouldn't...

Taking commissions en masse Posted 12 years ago
Explanation about prior posts, skip paragraph if only interested in commissions: So, about that blog series I was writing, regarding drawing. Did you know it's not bullshit? At least not intentionally? That's why it's taken so long to get to the desire part. I thought I had it nailed down, but the thing about desire is that it's a very finicky entity. Just when you think you've gotten your fingers wrapped around it it whips out the one lube you don't have a solvent for and squips away. So, that's why I haven't written at length about it yet; I'm still trying to understand how to make it stick. Until I get something that works more than 50% of the time, I'm going to have to meditate on it. It is coming. Eventually. Maybe. For now, interstitial post.

Real blog...
