Backstory:

Taking inspiration from ghost stories, Dark Berry Cookie was a well-liked sorceress among her peers, before the Ancients fell and Dark Enchantress rose to power. She was soft, kind, and selfless, and she always carried more than her share just to help others out. She was known for dabbling in the dark arts, but every cookie knew Dark Berry had fate in her studies. After all, she believed light and dark magic are neither good nor evil. And she harnessed this for good. However, one day, her village was attacked by a monster. Despite the efforts of her peers, the monster was too strong for them. At a last-ditch effort, Dark Berry stepped in. But then, somehow her spell to save everybody failed and she fused with the monster she tried to banish. Now she goes by Morbid Maw Cookie, because not only because of her hat but also because the monster gave her an insatiable hunger. The Ancients didn't know how to help her at the time, and in a misguided way to save everybody, they sealed her away. However, after their fall, Morbid Maw was set free, and she roamed the Earthbread in search of cookies to eat.

It's said Morbid Maw still has remnants of her former self, and the best way to keep her at bay is to leave food out for her and keep lanterns out at night. However, some refuse to listen...
