And that was it. Tooth had been swallowed whole. Inside, it was dark, hot, moist, and slimey. The air was barely breathable as the hot rancid odours burned with every breath.
Tooths entire body was covered in stomach juices, saliva, and mucus. Pushed so tight together, she could barely move a muscle. This was it, her fate. There would be no hero to save her. She knew what dune slugs did after they consumed a prey... Then she heard it. The sound of burrowing. The wriggling slug made its escape quickly, as it would hide in the dunes once more. This time probably for weeks before it needed to hunt again. And after just a few seconds it was all gone. A slight indent in the ground was all the proof the slug had ever been there. And Tooths staff on the ground the only proof she had ever existed.
