Some of you are probably wondering why I bundled these two games together. To make a long story short: there are narrative contrivances in Link's Awakening that enable it to cross over with various other Nintendo properties. Most of them are Mario based, and range from simple images of main cast characters to side scrolling sections where you can deadass just jump on Goombas. But there's a few obscure ones too, like the mayor from that one SNES Simcity game and a former antagonist from some Japan-only gameboy game I can't pronounce the name of. As you might have guessed from the title, Kirby themself appears in this game...! Of all things, as a minor mook in a single lategame dungeon.
Their only job is to be a nuisance really. If you linger long enough on the screen they're on they start inhaling, which causes you to gravitate towards them from anywhere on the screen. They're usually placed in such a way that they threaten to pull you off of a high ledge and back onto the ground floor, requiring a lot of backtracking to get back up again. Even if you're stupid enough to ever get caught by them, they only deal a single point of damage and briefly immobilize you. This particular Kirby seems to have different ideas - they may not be able to digest Link in this universe, but they seem perfectly content to keep him trapped inside his body forever. An unorthodox belly pet to keep fed and occupied, no matter how much they insist they want out. ~

Those are actually called anti-kirbys. I have always had a head cannon that they are the crudely painted kirbys made by Paint Roller roller

Oh I'm aware they're *technically* separate entities, just the likeness was a convenient enough excuse to cover both IPs in one pic. =V
