Here we have an alternate scenario where Princess Peach did indeed go off on her own to Petal Meadows to search for the treasure depicted in the magical map.

While she did not have a giant hammer and a few partners by her side to be able to best all that was in Hooktail's Castle, she did, however, discover that she could very well use her stomach and a LOT of ridiculous cartoon logic to deal with whatever there was in that castle.

And so, she started swallowing away at all Goombas, Koopas, Dull Bones and anything else that stood in her way, and eventually somehow managed to carry her already pretty massive gut to Hooktail's Lair and face the red dragon herself.

A few minutes after Peach entered the lair, a massive gulp was heard, along with a super massive burp and monstrously loud stomach noises afterwards.

Somehow, the little Princess managed to deal with the massive Hooktail by swallowing the entire dragon whole, and was now experiencing immense ecstasy from her probably once in a lifetime colossal meal.

Now, all she has to do is wait for a week or so for her stomach to proccess all she ate, and the Crystal Star will be her's to collect!
